Integrating the AUDD Gateway

Last Update a year ago

The AUDD Gateway, leveraging the Stellar blockchain, offers a sophisticated pathway for businesses to connect with and transact in the Australian market. Its integration hinges on Stellar Ecosystem Proposals (SEPs), specifically designed to streamline operations like fiat on/off ramping for stablecoin issuers and merchants. This article provides an overview of the technical specifications required for integrating with the AUDD Gateway, focusing on the use of SEPs, particularly SEP-24, for interactive gateway integration.

Stellar Ecosystem Proposals (SEPs)

SEPs are protocols within the Stellar network aimed at standardising a variety of operations, enhancing the predictability and reliability of integrations. These proposals cover various functionalities, from asset issuance to interoperability protocols, which play a critical role in maintaining a cohesive ecosystem. For detailed information on Stellar Ecosystem Proposals, the Stellar Development Foundation offers extensive resources at Stellar Ecosystem Proposals.

Interactive Gateway Integration: SEP-24

The AUDD Gateway utilises Stellar's SEP-24 protocol, which standardises the deposit and withdrawal interactions between users and financial applications through a hosted client, such as a pop-up user interface (UI). This protocol ensures a uniform user experience across different platforms, making the process of depositing and withdrawing assets straightforward and consistent. Documentation for SEP-24, detailing its technical specifications and implementation guidelines, is available on Stellar’s GitHub repository at SEP-24 on GitHub.

Technical Implementation Summary

TOML File Configuration

A TOML file is crucial for establishing a connection between your system and the AUDD Gateway. This file contains essential information, including the issuing account and supported currencies. The configuration of the TOML file is a vital step in the integration process, acting as a foundation for communication between the merchant's system and the AUDD Gateway.

For security reasons, the SEP-24 TOML file is only released to approved Merchants, upon successful application to integrate the AUDD Gateway.

Deposit & Withdrawal Implementation

Merchants must adhere to the SEP-24 standards to implement the required deposit or withdrawal operations. This compliance ensures that transactions are handled efficiently and in accordance with established Stellar network practices.

KYC Handling

The AUDD Gateway incorporates KYC processes within its UI, simplifying the user onboarding experience. Merchants integrating with the AUDD Gateway do not need to implement separate KYC procedures, as these are already facilitated through the gateway’s interface.

Environments

The TOML file acts as a bridge for merchant integration, enabling interaction with the AUDD Digital backend system. Two environments are hosted for TOML files:

  • Sandbox Environment: Designed for testing and development, this environment utilises AUDD on Stellar’s testnet, allowing for safe experimentation and refinement of the integration before deployment.
  • Live Environment: Upon completing testing, the live environment connects to AUDD on the Stellar mainnet, enabling actual transactions.

Additional Resources

For merchants and developers looking to integrate with the AUDD Gateway, the Stellar Development Foundation provides a variety of resources to facilitate the process. These include documentation on building wallets with the Wallet SDK, guides on SEP-24 implementation, tools and SDKs, and community support forums. A non exhaustive list of resources is provided below:

Integrating with the AUDD Gateway requires a thorough understanding of Stellar’s ecosystem and adherence to specific technical specifications, notably SEP-24 for interactive gateway integration. By following the guidelines outlined in this article and utilising the resources provided, merchants can successfully connect their businesses with the Australian market through the AUDD Gateway, leveraging the power and flexibility of the Stellar blockchain.
